Home Beliefs Goals and Methods Order Form

Our Core Beliefs

  1. School is wasteful. Most of what students are required to learn will have little or no effect on their lives. Because MOST school work is a waste does not mean that all of it is useless. Schools give everyone an opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that will be very important to them. School is vital for some people. It is marginally important for many. It is almost a total waste for others. When it comes to schooling, one size does not fit all. School is not for everyone.

  2. School is a denial of individual freedom. The laws about compulsory attendance and required courses are Big Brother telling parents and students what is good for them. The nation that prides itself as the bastion of individual freedom denies it to so many for so long. The time for giving people back their lives is long overdue.

  3. Schools retard the growing up process. People mature by making their own decisions in the face of reality. Compulsory, lock-step education does not allow young people to make significant decisions and grow because of their successes and failures. The school experience is a daily emersion in fantasy. It does not prepare people for real life.

  4. Learning is hard work. There is very little that can be done to make either learning or school fun. All programs to make school seem like or appear to be fun are delusional or dishonest.

  5. We need more real education and less school. This will be good for all the important participants in the educational process. It will mean better education and less cost.
